Chevrolet and the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) invite 10 talented HBCU students to 10 HBCU students on a journey to Discover the Unexpected (DTU) about their communities, careers, and themselves.

Selected DTU Fellows travel to various NNPA publications across the country to work on-site uncovering stories that matter to the Black community. From writing and production to videography and photography, each fellow will craft captivating content that resonates for years to come.

Be a part of the NNPA’s illustrious 80-year legacy, and shine a spotlight on narratives that defy stereotypes, broaden perspectives, and ignite inspiration for all to Discover the Unexpected.

PROGRAM FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Discover the Unexpected is Igniting Futures with a 10-week journalism internship focused on creating impactful content and writing articles that matter to our community. Each DTU Fellow receives a $10,000 scholarship and a $8,000 stipend. DTU Fellows will be rewarded with hands-on guidance, career advancing experience, and networking with journalism professionals, all while delivering stories that make a difference.

The Discover the Unexpected NNPA Fellowship application includes:
