Desiree Williams is a graduating senior from Howard University with a broadcast journalism major and a sociology minor degree. Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Desiree is using her passion for storytelling to help rewrite the narrative of underprivileged communities, using her voice and platforms to tell the stories that, too often, go untold. One of her favorite quotes that motivates her the most is: “You were not expected to aspire to excellence: You were expected to make peace with mediocrity.” — James A. Baldwin
