JANIYA PEARSON
Janiya Pearson is a senior marketing major from Hampton, Virginia. She has a passion for content creation and aims to further develop and use her creative mindset. She is very active within her Hampton Roads community and at her school, Hampton University. She currently serves as the President of Business Bigs and the Director of Social Media for the Hampton University Dining Facility. Janiya is also a Spring 2023 into the Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, where she serves as the Historian for the 2023-2024 school year. Outside of school, Janiya enjoys shopping, spending time with her family, and playing with her puppy, Dior. After graduation, Janiya aspires to continue her path within the social media management and content creation field.

Ashé Cultural Arts Center, a nearly 20-year-old arts-based institution located in New Orleans’ Central City area, is kicking off its celebration of the tricentennial with this year’s Maafa commemoration, “A Prelude to the Tri-centennial,” at Congo Square in Armstrong Park on July 1.
