On Tuesday, Operation HOPE welcomed an audience of roughly 50 people to The Gathering Spot for a panel discussion aimed at dissecting what redevelopment, revitalization, and gentrification mean for parts of Atlanta.

According to city data.com, the median household income for the Vine City area in 2016 was $25,130, well below the median income for Atlanta recorded as $49,398. Operation HOPE, SunTrust Bank, and Chick-Fil-A announced a new partnership meant to address this disparity through providing credit and money management coaching to residents of the Vine City community.

“College should not make you or break you,” said Shanita Ollison, a 27 year-old “artrepreneur” and the founder and owner of Nita Key Enrichment. “Just because you didn’t go to college doesn’t mean you can’t be a manager of a multi-million dollar company.”
